The seven Dutton children play a variety of instruments: violin and fiddle, guitar, bass, viola, cello, banjo, mandolin, keyboard, harmonica, and drums. In addition to their instrumental virtuosity, the children also carry on the fine old American tradition of clogging, and have been recognized as superb vocal talents. The parents are equally remarkable. Father Dean plays guitar and sings bass. Mother Sheila plays the bass and acts as the group's business manager.
Three special qualities have become the hallmarks of The Duttons' performances: their wide range of versatility, their consistently professional high-energy shows, and their warm and genuine manner with which they relate to their audiences. Hold on to your heart during the show because this wonderful family will dance and play their way right into it. With musical offerings that range from gospel to rock and everything in between, there is something for everyone.
